To make the sculpture more accessible I have removed the smaller boy from the pose and secured his armature to the board with clamps. This makes it easier to get to all the areas. I begin adding the bulk of the clothing. At a certain point I’ll go back in with a wooden tool to blend out the clay a bit to see my forms.
I try to work on all areas - bringing each area up to the same level and not getting too hung up on any one area - keep moving around the sculpt as you work I will periodically put the two boys back together in the their pose to check for composition and mechanical fit as I work. There is still a lot of work to be done but making progress in this blocking in stage.
