Now that the basics of the skeleton are in place it is time to apply clay in forms representing the major muscle groups. Below are several short time lapse videos showing part of the this process.

When the muscle masses have been laid in they are then smoothed out a bit to refine the form of the figure.

Now it is time to rough in the clothing. As this is a sketch maquette it isn’t meant to be a finished piece but rather to act as a working sketch to refine the idea and pose. I’m working mainly from my own imagination at this point and basing the clothing off of some historical reference photos of period clothing. Once the pose is selected and the final modeling shoot with actual clothing is completed I’ll have more visual information to work from.
