I am pleased to announce that I have been selected to sculpt Fannie Mae Duncan as a life-size bronze public art sculpture. The bronze of Mrs. Duncan will be installed in front of the Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts in Colorado Springs. She is a fascinating woman and this will be the first sculpture of an African American Woman in Colorado Springs - history in the making! I have created a special blog (FMD) dedicated to the process of this sculpture.
I was at Art Castings of Colorado Foundry waiting to pick up my bronze "Ascension" for a new collector when I spotted my name in this article about the American Women Artists Show in Tucson in Southwest Art Magazine. What a nice surprise and such an honor to be mentioned with this calibre of artists!

Very pleased to announce winning both Best in Show & First Place in Sculpture at the Women Artists of the West Online Sculpture Show
Juror's Notes:
"Eleanor" - The gesture created in this bust is exceptional. As I viewed each image presented I felt she was about to speak. I think this is Eleanor Roosevelt, but it could be any forceful woman of the early 20th century. Her life’s story reads in her gesture, bumps and folds in her face and neck, her glance and that determined mouth!
"Two Possible Outcomes" - When I first viewed this I thought the reeds were rather stiff and too regular. Then I saw all three images and knew the reeds were created that way for a reason; the stalking bird twists its body; the frog’s gentle curves augment the shape of the bird; together they are in counterbalance with the stiff regular reeds. Each view contains a perfect composition of soft and hard forms.

"Eleanor" was chosen by the judges as First Place in Sculpture for this year’s Best & Brightest Show at Scottsdale Artists School. Also, it was chosen by the school to be this year’s Purchase Award. This is especially poignant for me because I received a scholarship from the SAS to attend a Sandy Scott workshop in 2015 and while there, I would sneak into the school early just to peruse the halls, admiring the works on permanent display, photographing them with my iPad and thinking that I would love to have one of my works in those halls one day. I am grateful that "Someday" came today. 1/6/2016

Article in the Loveland Reporter Newspaper by Kenneth Jessen.
Lori Kiplinger Pandy enjoyed a long career as a graphic designer for the publishing industry before striking out on her own as a sculptor four years ago.
She was classically trained at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida. During her career as an illustrator, she created over 25 book covers for McGraw-Hill and illustrated 15 children's books.
Of her work Pandy says, "People fascinate me. Whether an influential public figure or an unknown person waiting for the bus, when I see their face, the way they hold themselves, I instantly wonder about them. What has happened in their lives and how have they responded?"
Her life has been enriched by her travels. She grew up in an Air Force family and remembers her childhood in Ramstein, Germany. As an adult, Pandy has traveled to Spain, Netherlands, England, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland bolstering her appreciation not only for art but for architecture. She hates "disposable architecture" meant to last but a few years and marvels at the century-old European buildings that are occupied and maintained by generations of families.
Pandy has a long list of future projects — fascinating people she reads about. She has already completed busts of civil rights leaders Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass and Eleanor Roosevelt. Her next project is entertainer Danny Kaye.
Pandy has shown her work at the past three Loveland Sculpture Invitational Show and Sales. She has been accepted to this year's Sculpture in the Park during the second weekend in August at the Benson Park Sculpture Garden.
Pandy's upcoming shows include the Women's Museum of California in San Diego, May 2-31, and the 17th annual Master and Signature Member Show on Cape Cod, Mass., Aug. 15-Sept. 15.
Pandy is on the lookout for commissioned work, especially monument size, and is actively biding on these projects. She continues to add to her portfolio which has grown to over two dozen pieces.
Her website is kiplingerpandy.com.

American Women Artists is pleased to announce the finalists for the 17th Annual National Juried Competition, to be exhibited at the Addison Art Gallery in Orleans, MA this summer.
Over 350 associate members applied with over 900 entries of work. Our selection jurors for 2014 were very impressed with the high quality of work to review. Their task was not an easy one; ultimately only 60 artists go on as finalists in the National Juried Competition Exhibit at the Addison Art Gallery from August 15-September 15, 2014.
While I have loved exhibiting at the Loveland Sculpture Invitational
these past 3 years - I'm very excited to be accepted into the Loveland
Sculpture in the Park show this year....it's good to try new things and I
wish both shows continued success. You can't go wrong either way - they
are both the pinnacle of outdoor sculpture shows in the US!
