"King of Jesters" received Award of Merit at the American Women Artists 2015 Spring Online Juried Show
Original fired ceramic 3/4 life sized portrait bust sculpture of the great entertainer Danny Kaye.
The title is taken from his movie "The Court Jester" and this sculpture is a tribute to a man who gave joy through his work in film, cinema and the Unicef project.
Danny Kaye will always hold a special place in my heart for the warmth he brought me through his movies. When a Danny Kaye film was on tv our family gathered together for good times and great memories. Dena Kaye should be pleased to know that when he was displayed at the Loveland Sculpture in the Park show in August - people flocked in to see him and then to tell me how much he meant to them and their own families.
This portrait of Danny Kaye was created by sculpting in ceramic clay, high fired and finished with my unique layered, translucent patina.
