22"H x 36"W x 3.5" D (Cast in Forton edition of 10)

Available in two different patina choices. This large bas relief sculpture of two affectionate horses is cast in Forton and can be displayed in a protected outdoor environment such as your courtyard, porch or stable and barn walls.

“Necking” is a peaceful portrait of two horses with their necks entwined giving a feeling of peace, support and contented friendship. The decorative element of river rock within the sculpture adds to the feel of nature along with the light touch of harmonious colors.

A unique feature of my work, is that it is tactile and can be touched and stroked which may be especially inclusive to those with vision impairment or who simply respond better to their environment by touching.

The work is Cast Stone (Forton -Polymer Modified Fiberglass Reinforced Gypsum) and is lightweight and strong. The smooth surface is cool and feels pleasant, like touching stone. The patina is weather resistant, lightfast and sealed with wax. “Necking” weighs no more than most framed paintings of this size making it easy to display on almost any wall and at 22” x 36” x 3.5” it has a nice large size for viewing both up close or at a fair distance. A gallery or spot light would give the piece a great deal of presence and depth that would invite people to contemplate the strength and softness of these magnificent animals.
